As early as the beginning of birth, all persons need to practice great eating habits in order to be the very best a person can be! Who wouldn’t want to be the absolute best version of themselves? Today, we are going to go over some techniques in regarding poor eating habits in very early ages and what harm that could do.
Just Say No to Nonstop Juice!
Alright, so how many of us out there are so accustomed to letting our young children run around with that infamous juice cup, just sipping away running through the house? A young child likes juice, seems to be okay with it through his or her day, so why not let them run around happily with their juice cups? Well, here is the key fact in why you shouldn’t let a young child do that. What a lot of caregivers and parents do not realize is that more than a half of that sippy cup of juice will actually fill a young child up, which will lead to your small child not engaging well in actual meal time. Not to forget the harm this can do to their teeth!! Always keep water close by!
Not the Nibble
A lot of young children love to run around nibbling on any and every type of food and when your child constantly snacks on food all day long, once again this type of behavior will lead to your child not wanting a proper meal throughout the day, as well this will stunt your small child from truly recognizing what hunger and being full actually means, as well as feels like. Make sure to keep all snacks healthy; that way if they are snacking a lot you know they are getting the nutrients they require!
Don’t Always Reward with Sugar
This should be simple as cake, which sounds ironic doesn’t it? When your small child actually listens to instruction and takes your advice, whether it be in preschool, church, home or wherever, many times, parents and teachers are so shocked, as well happy that the first thing we do is hand over the infamous cookie or a slice of cake, right? As a general rule, sugar makes most all normal persons happy, really joyful actually. Now, what a lot of people do not realize is that by constantly giving a young child sugar when they listen or take advice will only make the small child crash after a few hours, causing the young mind to feel as though they are going to mush. Let me explain it this way, alright? Your young child picks up his or her toys when you first ask, alright that’s good; very good, so you give your small child two sugar filled cookies. At first, they are happy as larks, running around smiling, laughing and then a few hours later, they crash; feeling awful. So, in their minds, they did something good, was praised and then only a few short hours later, their bodies are feeling awful. This confusion will cause a small child to act out because they cannot understand why they feel so badly, especially if they done something “so good”. See what I’m getting at here? How about praising your child with attention, fun activities that has a secret exercise method intertwined in it? Cookies and sugar are not always the answer all the time.
Controlling Your Child during Mealtimes
It is important to allow your child to make choices. Provide a variety of food items at meal times and allow your child to choose what he/she will eat. Keep a spread of healthy food at meal times and your child should be allowed to choose what he/she will eat and determine when he/she is full. This will keep you happy and your child happy! Also encourage your child to try new foods; don’t push too much but encourage your child to develop their palate. Praise your child when they taste new foods.
