We Are an IPC® School!

To augment the Montessori methods at Grey Matter Montessori, our students also receive a research and scientifically-based IPC curriculum. The International Preschool Curriculum (IPC) is a professional association of more than 100 schools worldwide, designed to strengthen and enhance early childhood education standards. The IPC method is based upon a partnership between school owners, teachers, students, parents and the government.

  • Teachers at IPC schools must complete training in professional development and best practices and hold certificates from the College of Teaching.
  • Students are taught and learn from the comprehensive preschool curriculum which has a clear process of learning and specific learning goals for each subject
  • Parental involvement is a key component of IPC schools which parents receive a newsletter coinciding with every thematic unit being taught to their child.

How Will IPC Benefit my Child’s Education?

Present in over 90 countries across the world, the IPC organization is internationally recognized for meeting and surpassing all curricula requirements. It features a Preschool Curriculum (designed for children ages 3-6 years.)

In addition to being thematic and objective based, the curriculum is also research-based to ensure that your child’s brain and skills are developing wholly. Professionally designed by the IPC design-studio, this preschool curriculum covers 6 key areas of learning:

  • Language Arts
  • Numeracy
  • Creative Arts
  • Socio-Emotional Skills
  • Sciences
  • Motor Skills

The IPC provides several learning aides per thematic unit including student workbooks, flashcards, worksheets and much more. A selection of Emergent Literacy is offered to each IPC school to enhance students’ learning and reading ability. To further enhance the quality of education, the IPC has developed a phonics program designed to teach preschool students the basis of spelling, reading and writing.

Parental Involvement

Through extensive research, the IPC found that parental involvement in a child’s education is extremely crucial in fostering the development of early learning skills, which are essential later in life.

That is why, at Grey Matter Montessori, we are dedicated to keeping open communication with our students’ parents and encourage active involvement in your child’s education and development through:

  • Regular newsletters which are designed to give you an overview of the thematic unit your child is being taught in school as well as the activities they are participating in.
  • Regular parent/teacher interviews.
  • Mothers Day/Fathers Day Celebrations
  • Be Our Guest Program - where parents are invited to the classroom to view their child’s work.
  • Field trips
  • Online access to your child’s progress including their pictures and an activity calendar.

At Grey Matter Montessori, we strive to provide the most comprehensive and diverse education to our students through the IPC preschool curriculum and continuously encourage open communication between teachers, students and parents to build long-lasting, successful relationships.
